City of Jersey City, New Municipal Complex, Jersey City, NJ

Maitra provided civil engineering for this $54 million multi-story, multi-building Municipal Complex at East Linden Avenue in Jersey City. Covering roughly 18 acres, the new complex includes a 35,000 SF Office Building, a 62,800 SF Maintenance and Parking Garage, a 16,250 SF Emergency Services Unit Building and a 29,800 SF Auto and Storage Building. The complex was designed to meet the requirements of LEED Silver certification. Scope of civil services included grading, drainage, erosion control plans, access roads, parking lots, water, sanitary, and storm water utilities up to 60-inch diameter lines, specifications, construction documents, and coordination with various agencies for approvals. Extensive coordination with JCMUA and NJDEP for water main extension, sewer extension, treatment works, and storm water management facilities. Also provided construction support services.
NYCSCA, PS-303Q, New Primary School, Queens, NY
Maitra provided civil engineering services for this new $41 million primary school at 108-55 69th Avenue. The 60,000 SF facility consists of a partial cellar and five floors. Scope included civil, site, landscape drawings, site grading, drainage design, utility connections, landscape design, erosion and sediment control design. Scope of work also included filing applications for storm and sanitary sewer connections with NYDEP, coordinating new street tree requirement with Department of Parks and Recreation, preparing Builder’s Pavement Plan and obtaining a DOB permit for the construction of curbs and sidewalks. Prepared construction documents for both demolition and new building packages in accordance with SCA’s standard and provided construction support services.

United Airlines, TSA In-Line Baggage Screening Building, Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ

Maitra provided civil/site engineering for a new 72,000 SF multi-level building to accommodate a new in-line checked baggage screening system adjacent to Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport. The new baggage screening system consists of 10 integrated CTX machines with approximately 13,500 linear feet of baggage conveyors to process 4,000 bags per hour. Maitra was responsible for civil/site design, specifications, and construction support services. Scope of services included site layout drawings, utility plans, grading, and drainage plans through various design development stages, PA rider meetings and responses, soil erosion and sediment control plans.
